We used to have an elderly volunteer at work who was very territorial about the area she had designated as her work space. It didn't matter if you were a staff member, the director of the library system, or the mayor; if you ventured into her area she would bark at you.
Murphy likes to place himself in the way. It's his favorite hobby. Well, maybe a close 2nd to licking himself in front of company....
